Hey my name is Bailey and I am a HUGE soccer fan!!!!! You are my greatest inspiration and I have learned a lot from you! I learned the header and all the other cool moves that you have performed. I have watched every World Cup that you and your team have played. This year I was really sad that the U.S.A Women’s team did not win! Well I am 10 years old and like I said I am a huge Abby Wabash Fan and I REALLY like the other players but I think Abby Wabash really stands out to me! I am going to the 5th grade and I have played soccer all my life! My mom always points to her belly and says that I was born to play! Most of my life I have played instructional soccer but now I am going to start at an Academy for soccer! I would REALLY like to be in the in the U.S.A Women’s World Cup just like Abby Wabash! And Abby make to be in the stands watching play just like you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the whole team and keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!

Thank you and your teammates for one of the most exciting Women’s World Cups ever. I just love this sport and have since our son first played on a field with rocks and broken glass ( it is now the site of a shopping mall)in 1976 in Plano, TX. My husband, having been born in Scotland, knew more about soccer than I did (make that nothing) as his uncle had played for the Glasgow Rangers. We bought “how to” books and rented videos and off we went. That was the start of our interest in soccer. My son only played through junior high but our daughter, born in 1979, played from the time she was five all the way through high school. Some of our best friends have been made as a result of soccer.

We love all sports but women’s soccer is our favorite. The growth of women’s soccer through the years has been so exciting
and a great source of joy in our lives.

Thanks to the women who blazed the trail before you and thank you for sharing your love of the sport and your talents with us old couch potatoes.

This has been so much fun and we can’t wait for the Olympics.

Hi I have been following football for 30 years since I was 5. I think the USA team was a really good advert for the ever improving women’s game in this world cup. It was cool to watch flowing football, with exciting matches and played with a really good spirit. I think it was one of the best world cup’s I have seen apart from maybe when Gazza cried in the semi-final and the one before, when Maradona scored that goal. I think it was unfotunate you didn’t win but you know it will mean that they will invest loads more into the game until you do win. Great games though, well played, hope you are proud x

When I started playing soccer, Abby you were only one years old. Soccer was not was it is today for women as it was when I was young. I am so proud, honored, and humbled to witness the growth and skill potential it has reached today for all women. I am thrilled and to see what you and others have made it become and what the future holds for women in this sport. The cross chip and header into the goal in the last minute or two of the Brazil game I will never forget. Thank you so much for paving the way and inspiring other future female players. Thank you for inspiring us older female soccer players who held onto the dream of one day believing how far you and others would take the sport of soccer. Enjoy and be thankful for every moment. They will be moments you will cherish forever. P.S.. I get the soccer injuries. I am in my mid forties and I am still feeling the affects of those injuries today. Take great care.
